George Mason women's basketball faces the Duquesne for the first time since December, 1999 when the Patriots defeated the Dukes 62-55. Mason leads the all-time series 2-1 with a perfect 2-0 record at home. This will be the first time the programs meet as conference foes. The Dukes currently hold the top spot in the Atlantic 10 with a 6-1 record.
Mason is coming off a112-86 loss at VCU despite the Patriots outplaying the Rams in the second half. Mason turned the ball over seven times before converting a basket Saturday afternoon at VCU and trailed 18-0 at the first media timeout. Redshirt sophomore Taylor Brown would break Mason's scoring drought sinking three treys in a little over a minute of play. The Green and Gold would finish the game with 15 treys, shooting a season-high 47% from behind the arc and tying a school record set in 2004 against Hofstra.
The Dukes are coming off a 77-65 win at VCU Wed. Jan. 22. Duquesne has a trio of players averaging double-digits led by Raegan Moore (15.6), Wumi Agunbiada (15.0) and April Robinson (11.8). The Dukes lone conference loss came on Jan. 4 against VCU when the Rams took a 71-68 decision at Duquesne.
