After completing their five-game homestand with a 4-0-1 record, The George Mason men's soccer team heads to Charlottesville, Va. for the first of three consecutive away matches. The Patriots face off against the Virginia Cavaliers on Tuesday, September, 17 at 7 p.m.
Mason kept its undefeated record alive on Friday night with a 1-0 victory over perviously unbeaten Seton Hall University. Senior Julio Arjona scored his first goal of the season in the 60th minute to put the Patriots permanently ahead, kicking in a header from Hugh Roberts off of a corner kick. Freshman goalkeeper Steffen Kraus also recorded his second consecutive shutout in net.
The University of Virginia lost their most recent matchup, falling to No. 15 Wake Forest on Friday evening. It was the second consecutive loss for the Cavaliers who fell to 1-3-0 on the season. They start a three-game homestand on Tuesday, starting with George Mason and followed by NC State and Providence.
