The George Mason women's volleyball team kicks off its 2013 season on Friday night at home, as the Patriots play host to day one of the annual D.C. Volleyball Challenge. The Patriots will face Georgetown at 7 p.m., with the day's first match set to begin at 5 p.m. featuring the American Eagles and Howard Bison.

All four teams will be opening their seasons in Fairfax. Mason returns nine letterwinners and welcomes five newcomers from last year's squad, under the guidance of head coach Pat Kendrick who begins her 29th season at the helm.
