Mason hosts its final weekday non-conference game on Tuesday, welcoming the Hawks of University of Maryland Eastern Shore to Spuhler Field.

The Patriots are 17-33 overall this season, going 2-2 last week with a win at George Washington (6-5) and taking one of three at ODU in their final CAA series.

Leading the way for Mason in its 1-0 win over ODU on Saturday, redshirt junior Anthony Montefusco was named the CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Montefusco threw a complete-game, five-hit shutout and struck out a season-high 10 batters for his first career complete game. He also helped his own cause in the win, delivering an RBI single that drove in the game-winning run in the seventh.

Junior Blaise Fernandez is the only Patriot to start all 50 games this season, and currently leads the team hitting .335 with 66 hits and 27 doubles in addition to 24 RBI's and 27 runs scored. Classmate Patrick Esposito has found his stride as of late, hitting .471 (8-17) with a double, triple, three RBI's and three runs scored in four starts last week.

UMES is just 8-42 on the season and is in the midst of a six-game road trip to close the regular season. The Hawks travel to Fairfax on Tuesday before facing UMBC on Wednesday.

Byron Campbell is one of two Hawks to appear in all 50 games this season, and is hitting a team-best .311 with 52 hits, 15 doubles, 21 RBI's and 31 runs scored.
