In the final match of the season, Mason men's tennis defeated Delaware 5-2 at the Delaware Field House Courts in Newark, Del. The Patriots played in their last match as members of the CAA and finished 4-1 in the conference and 14-7 overall. Delaware finished with a 5-10 record, 1-4 in the CAA.
The Blue Hens won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 3. The match at the second spot could have swayed either way as Mason's team of Scott Keaton and Jimmy Davis lost a competitive match to the Blue Hens team of Gelman/Andrews, 9-8 (3).
Delaware won the top singles match as Troy Beneck defeated Jordan Dyke, 6-2, 6-1. Dyke finished with a 12-6 dual match record. The Patriots followed with a sweep of the remaining matches.
Three matches went the distance, No. 3-5. Scott Keaton won the third match 6-3 after going to the tiebreaker in the first and second at the third spot. Mason's Tanner Baine defeated Nolan Gelman, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. Freshman Aaron Capitel ended his freshman campaign with a 13-6 dual record after his defeat of Mike Furr at the five spot, 6-7 (4), 6-1, 6-0.
Mason's Jimmy Davis defeated Adam Lawton at No. 2 singles, finishing the dual season with a 13-6 record.
