FAIRFAX, Va. - For his
efforts in leading the George Mason men's volleyball team to a 2-0 weekend in
EIVA action, senior Michael Kvidahl was tabbed as the conference's offensive
player of the week on Monday.
The Patriots swept both No.
15 Harvard and Sacred Heart over the weekend, improving to 5-2 in the EIVA and
7-7 overall.
Against Harvard, Kvidahl
had a match-high 14 kills, hit .500 and added three service aces and five
defensive digs as the Patriots handled the Crimson in straight sets. Facing
Sacred Heart, Kvidahl once again paced the Mason offense with 12 kills and two
service aces. Defensively he added six digs and four blocks.
Kvidahl has appeared in
11 matches for the Patriots this season, posting a team-best 3.35 kills/set (3rd
EIVA) and 0.32 service aces/set (5th EIVA).
This is Kvidahl's first EIVA Offensive Player of the Week selection in 2013.
