The George Mason men's basketball team continues play in the 2013 College Basketball Invitational presented by Buick, hosting Western Michigan University on Wednesday night in the semifinal round. The Patriots and Broncos are meeting for the first time.
Western Michigan is 22-12 on the season, earning CBI wins over North Dakota State and Wyoming, both coming in overtime. The Broncos finished 10-6 in the Mid-American Conference, good for the MAC West division title. Leading a quartet of WMU double-figure scorers is Shayne Whittington, who chips in 13.3 points along with team highs of 301 rebounds (8.9 rpg) and 57 blocks.
