LEXINGTON, Va. – Freshman Jasmine Moser added her name to the list of qualifiers for the ECAC Outdoor Championships later this spring, competing at the W&L/VMI Track Carnival over the weekend.
Moser finished second in the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying height of 3.75m, trailing only teammate Mandissa Marshall who competed unattached and posted a height of 4.00m.
In her first outdoor meet as a Patriot, Moser also posted PR's four events, including the 200m (27.43), 100m hurdles (15.64), shot put (10.00m) and javelin (31.19m).
The Patriots had four additional women compete in the pole vault, with Summer Shepherd finishing fifth (3.30m), Megann Kaiser eighth (3.15m), Lindsay Horton ninth (3.00m) and Caitlin Eberly 12th (3.00m).
For the men, Justin Little posted a PR while finishing ninth in the high jump at 1.79m. The Patriots took five of the top 10 spots in the pole vault, led by Wes Sun who won with a height of 4.70m. He was followed by Patrick Dietrick (4.40m, 3rd), Josh Trikakis (4.40m, 4th), Sean Daugherty (4.40m, 6th) and Zachary Lawson (4.25m, 8th).
Also competing for the men were Gustavo Osorio and Kenzell Crawford in the decathlon. Osorio placed second with 5,844 points, while Crawford totaled 4,673 points to finish 16th.
The Patriots also competed at the W&M Tribe Open, and results are available at gomason.com.
Mason returns to action next weekend again in split squad action, competing at the Fred Hardy Invitational at the University of Richmond and the Raleigh Relays at N.C. State.
