The George Mason men's basketball team squares off against Georgia State in the two teams' final Colonial Athletic Association matchup on Saturday afternoon as part of Homecoming. Mason has won five straight against the Panthers, who will head to the Sun Belt Conference next year.
Georgia State sits one-half game back of Mason in the standings, and is coming off a 61-43 home win over Hofstra on Wednesday evening, and has won seven of its last 10 games. Six-time CAA Rookie of the Week R.J. Hunter leads the Panther offense, scoring 17.1 points per game this season including an average of nearly 19 points in conference games. He is one of three double-digit scorers for head coach Ron Hunter's squad. GSU will not be eligible to participate in next month's CAA Championship as a result of CAA bylaws about their upcoming conference affiliation change.
Mason leads the all-time series, 10-2.
