FAIRFAX, VA. - After helping the Mason men's volleyball team
open its EIVA season with a win over Princeton, seniors Mark Jones and Piotr
Dabrowski were named the EIVA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
Jones recorded 18 kills in the Patriots' 3-1 victory over
Princeton last Friday evening to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors. Jones' kills were a match high as he hit .400 and added nine digs, two total blocks and a service
ace. This is Mark's first EIVA Offensive Player of the Week selection in 2013.
Dabrowski finished Friday's match with five total blocks and
two digs en route to earning Defensive Player of the Week accolades. He also
added seven kills on the offensive end and recorded a hitting percentage of
.636 against the Tigers. This season, his 1.53 blocks/set is tops for Mason and
in the EIVA. This is Dabrowski's first EIVA Defensive Player of the Week
selection in 2013.
The Patriots return to action this weekend, hosting
Rutgers-Newark and NJIT at The RAC.
