After a two-week layoff from their opening match, the men's
tennis team defeated Morgan State, 5-2, to improve to 1-1 on the spring season.
The Patriots won all three doubles matches are four of the six singles matches
to defeat the Bears at Burke Swim and Racquet Club on Saturday night.
At the top singles position, Mason's Jordan Dyke defeated
Dimitry Borodkin, 6-2, 6-3. The No. 2 singles match was more competitive as the
Patriots Jimmy Davis won 7-6(9-7), 6-2. At No. 5 singles Mason's freshman Aaron
Capitel defeated the Bears Eric Ward, 7-5, 6-4 and at No. 6 singles Taylor
Sargent won 6-2, ret. Against Jannick Tash.
The Patriots are back on the court at Mary Washington on Sunday.
