News and Notes

The George Mason (5-3) women's basketball team continues its road trip at Delaware State University where the Patriots and Hornets for the ninth time in program history. Mason holds a commanding 7-1 series lead and has not lost to DSU since 1986 when the Hornets downed the Patriots 72-71.

It has been over 20 years since the programs last met with Mason taking the matchup on Nov. 26, 1990 64-58 on the road.

In Mason's last outing, the Patriots dropped a last second 66-64 decision at the College of Charleston.  

Delaware State is 2-3 heading into Wednesday's meeting led by Tierra Hawkins (24.5 PPG, 9.8 RPG). The hornets are coming off eight days rest after a road win over Manhattan on Nov. 26.
