George Mason Women's basketball (5-3) fell 66-64 to the College of Charleston at T.D. Arena in Charleston, S.C. Monday night.

The Patriots came back from a 11-1 deficit in the first half to take a 39-30 lead into the break behind 16 points from sophomore Taylor Brown. The Bowie, Md. native would end the night with a team high 18. However, Mason would shot just 28.6-percent from the field in the second half while giving up 16 points on 13 turnovers.

“We didn't play real smart on the offensive end, lot of turnovers that led to easy baskets," head coach Nyla Milleson said. "We have to learn how to hold leads."

As a team, the Patriots registered a season-high nine three pointers shooting over 39-percent from beyond the arc, while senior Janaa Pickard tabbed her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Fellow captain Cierra Strickland contributed 15 points as did junior Sandra Ngoie. Milleson notes there are plenty of lessons to be learned from a loss.

"We can't panic," Milleson said. "I think some of it goes to the depth and we're not playing through fatigue very well."

Mason does not have to wait long to get back to action as the Patriots travel to Delaware State to take on the Hornets Wednesday at 5:30 P.M. in the second game of a seven game road stretch.
