FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason's men's soccer team played to its fourth draw of the season, their third since entering conference play, in match against Duquesne on Friday night in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The 1-1 tie moves Mason's conference record to 9-2-4, (4-0-3) and improves their unbeaten streak to eight consecutive games. The Dukes recorded their first time of the season and now hold a record of 8-7-1, (3-3-1).

"Our guys put forward a very solid effort," head coach Greg Andrulis said. "We are disappointed with the result as we created significant chances but were unable to capitalize. Credit to Duquesne who played hard and were well prepared for the match. Now we get ourselves ready for the final regular season conference match at St. Bonaventure."

The Patriots were first to get on the board on the evening, converting a rebound chance in the 13th minute for the 1-0 lead. A Hugh Roberts shot was saved by Duquesne keeper Sam Frymier, but senior Julio Arjona was able to pick up the rebound and put it in the left side of the net for the early advantage, his second goal of the season.

Duquesne was able to answer in the 30th minute when Thomas de Villardi delivered a through pass to Kadeem Pantophlet who kicked into the left corner for his third of the season and a 1-1 score. The Dukes recorded six shots to Mason's nine in the first half, and were outshot 17-14 by the Patriots in the contest. Mason also had the edge in shots on goal, 8-3 and corner kicks, 8-1.

Both teams had chances in the second half but were unable to convert. Off of a de Villardi set piece, Dukes defender Nick DiSomma had a scoring chance in the half but that was saved by freshman goalkeeper Steffen Kraus, who made three saves on the night. Both sides had an equal eight shots in the second half and overtime periods as the scoreboard kept clean.

For their final game of the regular season, Mason travels to St. Bonaventure, N.Y. to face the ninth place Bonnies. Mason will be playing for seeding in the Atlantic-10 while the Bonnies (8-8-2, 2-4-1) hope to clinch a berth in the postseason. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 10
