The George Mason women's volleyball team wraps up the home portion of its 2013 schedule on Saturday night as it hosts Fordham on Senior Night. Prior to the start of the match, seniors Tori Price, Laura Spencer and Lana Zonjic will be recognized for their contributions to Mason volleyball.
The Patriots are looking to reverse a six-match winless streak on Saturday, including losses at home last weekend to Duquesne and Dayton. Leading the way for the Patriots is sophomore Morghan Martin, who has a team-high 214 kills (2.46 kps), while Zonjic's 3.25 kills per set ranks her fifth in the Atlantic 10. Also among the conference leaders for the Patriots is sophomore Bernetta Moore, leading the A-10 with 4.58 digs per set, sophomore Lolade Owokoniran (1.32 blocks/set, 3rd) and Price (8.81 assists/set, 7th).
Fordham sits a half-game ahead of Mason in the conference standings, although they will face George Washington on Friday night before crossing the river for Saturday's matchup. The Rams have dropped eight of their last nine, including a sweep by Saint Louis last weekend in the Bronx. Lisa Hipp paces the Rams offense with 285 kills, ranking sixth in the conference.
The two teams met on September 28 at Fordham, with the hosts taking a 3-1 win.
Following Saturday's match, the Patriots close out the regular season in the Midwest next weekend, traveling to Dayton Friday night and Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon.
