The George Mason men's basketball team carries its 4-0 record on the road for a Saturday tilt at Iona. Mason and Iona meet for the third time in program history this weekend with the Patriots owning a 2-0 all-time mark.
Coming off a 58-46 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.), the Patriots recorded only the second time in program history a team opened the season 4-0. Sherrod Wright and Marko Gujanicic both posted double-figure scoring numbers in the win. Wright continues to lead the Patriots with a 15.8 points per game average, followed by Bryon Allen and Gujanicic with 14.0 and 12.8 ppg averages, respectively. Gujanicic pulls down 8.3 rebounds per game to lead Mason on the boards.
Iona picked up its lone win of the season in a home victory over Wofford on November 16. The Gaels have dropped decisions at Cleveland State and Kansas, most recently. Four members average double-figure scoring numbers through three games led by Sean Armand with 17.0 ppg. David Laury chips in 15.7 ppg and adds 8.7 rebounds per game, on average.
