FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason men's basketball head coach Paul Hewitt announced today Therence Mayimba (Libreville, Gabon/St. James School) has signed a National Letter of Intent for the 2014-15 season.

Mayimba will finish out his high school career at St. James School after transferring from Montrose Christian. The 6'7” small forward averaged 8.9 points for the Montrose Christian Mustangs his final season. Originally from Libreville, Gabon, Mayimba, a three-star recruit, played AAU ball with Team Takeover. A multi-sport athlete, Mayimba also plays soccer at St. James.

“Therence is a rapidly developing player,” Hewitt noted. “He came to this country two years ago and has turned himself into, what I think, one of the better perimeter players around. His shooting is rapidly improving and has always been a very good defender and terrific athlete.”

Mayimba joins the 2014-15 signing class that also includes Eric Lockett (Atlanta, Ga./Whitefield Academy) and Trey Porter (Dumfries, Va./Potomac).
