The George Mason women's volleyball team finishes off a three-match road trip on Friday night, traveling to face Atlantic 10 foe Rhode Island for the first time in conference play. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
Mason is coming off a pair of road losses last weekend at VCU and George Washington. The Patriots are led offensively by senior Lana Zonjic and sophomore Morghan Martin, with the pair averaging 3.39 and 2.27 kills per set, respectively. At the net, sophomore Lolade Owokoniran continues to be a force, blocking 1.35 attempts per set which leads the conference and ranks among the top-25 nationally.
Rhode Island is coming off a midweek sweep of in-state rival Providence, but a pair of road losses at Duquesne and Dayton last weekend in conference action. Rhody is led by Franki Darnold who averages nearly four kills per set. Callan Kinnan leads thee A-10 in assists with 10.66 per set.
After Friday's match, the Patriots open a four-match homestand on Sunday afternoon, facing George Washington at 1 p.m. in a Revolutionary Rivalry game at the RAC.
