The George Mason women's basketball team continues this three-game homestand welcoming James Madison to the Patriot Center on Thursday.
Mason is coming off a tough loss to Northeastern at home on Tuesday to open this homestand. The Patriots led at the halftime break, but a strong second half from the Huskies propelled the visiting squad to victory. Rahneeka Saunders and Amber Easter led the Patriots offensively with 17 and 10 points, respectively, while Talisha Watts matched her career-high of 12 rebounds. Mason outrebounded Northeastern, 41-28.
James Madison, currently on a three-game win streak and winners of the last 7-of-8 games, are 2-0 in road conference games this season. The Dukes are coming off a 65-49 win at Georgia State. Tarik Hislop leads JMU with 16.5 points per game, while Kirby Burkholder adds 14.6 ppg, respectively. Burkholder also pulls down a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game on average.
