George Mason returns to Fairfax for the first time in nearly a month on Friday to host conference foe William & Mary in the Game of the Week at 7 p.m. The matchup will begin a two-game homestand for the Patriots who have not been home since August 31.
Mason enters Friday's contest coming off an overtime loss at Delaware, falling to the Blue Hens 2-1. Senior Tiana Kallenberger continues to pace the Mason offense with a team-high seven goals on the season, placing the Patriot tied for first in the league in goals. Liz Hodges follows Kallenberger with four goals on the year. Lyndse Hokanson has earned six starts in net, accumulating 33 saves.
William & Mary is coming off a 2-0 shutout over James Madison to open conference play with a 1-0-0 record. Mallory Schaffer, who was picked as the CAA preseason player of the year, leads the Tribe with seven goals on the year. Schaffer is tied with Kallenberger in the league rankings in goals. Cortlyn Bristol owns a team-best five assists on the year, while goalkeeper Caroline Casey owns the league's second-lowest goals against average at 0.73.
