George Mason women's soccer closes out non-conference play when it faces its second nationally-ranked opponent in as many weeks traveling to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a Sunday tilt against No. 24 Marquette.
The Patriots are coming off a 1-1 weekend at the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic. Mason opened the tournament dropping a 3-0 decision against host No. 7 Virginia and rebounded with a 3-1 win on Sunday against the Richmond Spiders. Tallying three goals, including two in game-winning fashion over the week's play, Liz Hodges was tabbed the CAA Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week. Hodges is the team's second-leading scorer as senior Tiana Kallenberger owns a team-best six goals on the season.
No. 24 Marquette defeated Pitt 5-1 Thursday evening, snapping a two-game skid that included losses against #14/18 North Carolina and #4 Duke. The Golden Eagles opened the season winning their first three contests, outscoring their opponents 10-0. Kate Reigle paces the Golden Eagles' offense with three goals and three assists on the season. Marquette is ranked No. 24 in the latest NSCAA college ranking poll and No. 19 by Top Drawer Soccer.
