FAIRFAX, Va. -
George Mason women's basketball will host fifteen regular season games at the
Patriot Center as the Colonial Athletic Association released the conference
portion of the 2012-13 slate. The Patriots will face league opponents 18 times
in addition to the 11-game non-conference slate announced earlier.
All game dates and times are subject to change as a result
of television broadcast scheduling.
The Patriots will play eight home-and-home series against
Northeastern, Delaware, Hofstra, Towson, Georgia State, UNCW, James Madison and
William & Mary. Mason will welcome Old Dominion to Fairfax, while traveling
to Drexel as the Monarchs and Dragons are the only two teams the Patriots will
not play twice.
As announced in August, Mason opens the regular season on
the road at Oakland, Nov. 9. UMES and Morgan State then visit Fairfax on Nov.
13 and 16, respectively, before the Patriots travel to Las Cruces, New Mexico
for the Aggie Hotel Encanto Thanksgiving Classic, Nov. 23-24.
The Patriots open December with a pair of home games,
hosting UAB on Dec. 2 and Akron three days later. Two road games follow as
Mason travels to perennial powerhouse Maryland, Dec. 8, and George Washington
on Dec. 22 after the exam break. The non-conference slate wraps up with Georgia
Southern and East Carolina visiting the Patriot Center on Dec. 29 and January
2, respectively.
Mason opens CAA play with a pair of road contests traveling
to Northeastern on Sunday, January 6 before visiting Delaware on Jan. 10.
Hofstra visits the Patriot Center on Jan. 13 for the CAA home opener for the
Patriots before Mason returns to the road for a short trip to Towson on Jan.
17. The first of two three-game weeks follows as the Patriots welcome
Northeastern (Jan. 22), James Madison (Jan. 24) and Georgia State (Jan. 27) to
the Patriot Center before traveling to Hofstra on Jan. 31 to close out the
month.
A pair of in-state rivals visit Fairfax to open February as
Old Dominion arrives for a Thursday tilt on Feb. 7, marking the lone matchup
between the two teams, and William & Mary makes the trip on Feb. 10. The
Patriots will visit UNCW on Thursday, Feb. 14 and welcome Towson on Sunday,
Feb. 17 before beginning its second three-game week which features a home
matchup against Delaware on Feb. 19 and trips to Drexel (Feb. 21) and Georgia
State (Feb. 24).
The Patriots host UNCW on Thursday, Feb. 28 for their final
home contest before concluding the regular season on the road. Mason travels to
James Madison on March 3 and closes out regular-season play at William and Mary
on Wednesday, March 6.
The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. will be the site
of the 2013 CAA Championship for the third consecutive year. The championship
