This year marks the
30th anniversary of one of the best men's soccer teams in the history of
George Mason University. The 1982 team posted an amazing 19-2 record,
winning their first 18 games in a row, and advanced to the quarterfinals
of the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament, losing to eventual runner-up Duke
2-0. The Patriots were ranked as high as sixth in the nation that season
- the best ranking in program history.
In
an effort to recognize the coaches and players from the 1982 team, we
will periodically release statistics from that year along with recent
interviews.
