COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - George Mason rising sophomore Hunter Stevens has been selected to participate in USA Volleyball High Performance Men's Junior A2 Program this summer.

The A2 Men's Junior program, which is comprised of 24 athletes from across the country, will take place on August 17-22 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The team is coached by Bill Ferguson of the University of Southern California.

"Hunter has made big strides this year and it is a testament to his hard work that he has earned his way into the USA High Performance Pipeline," said Mason Head Coach Fred Chao. "Playing in every match this past season has given him valuable experience that he needed to improve and to prepare for the next challenges."

Stevens started all 30 matches for the Patriots during his freshman campaign, ranking second on the team with 119 blocks and fifth with 126 kills. He was just one of two players to compete in all 120 sets for Mason.

The men's volleyball team finished its 2012 campaign with a 13-17 record, advancing to the finals of the EIVA Tournament where it fell to Penn State, 3-1.
