RICHMOND, Va. - George Mason senior pitcher A.J. Johnson was named
the CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Johnson shared the pitching honor with Michael Trionfo of Towson.
VCU's Joey Joey Cujas and Hofstra's Kenny Jackson shared Player of the Week
honors, while UNCW pitcher Jordan Ramsey was tabbed as he Rookie of the Week.
In Mason's 3-1 win over Georgia State on Sunday, Johnson surrendered
just one run on four hits over 7.0 innings, helping Mason secure the season
series. He struck out two, retired his final six batters faced and did not issue
a walk for the second-consecutive game.
This season, Johnson owns a 3-4 record and has posted a 4.34 ERA
over 37.1 innings of work.
The Patriots return to action tomorrow, traveling to face Maryland
at 6:00 pm.
