The George Mason men's volleyball team held its annual alumni weekend March 2-4, bringing together alumni from across the years through a variety of events.

Over 27 alums participated in the alumni match on Friday, with another group flanking the sidelines to watch. After Mason swept Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon, the group gathered for their annual banquet where over 75 attendees including alums, spouses, friends of the program and the current team honored the sport and its accomplishments at George Mason. 

The alumni group also received special recognition as winners of the Ten for Ten Alumni-Athlete Fundraising Challenge. The program asked alumni-athletes to make a gift to the Patriot Club and if 10 percent of alumni-athletes made a gift, $10,000 would be donated by alumni-athletes Dan and Patty Wotring.    

Through the program, alumni-athlete contributions exceed $90,000 and increased alumni-athlete overall giving participation by 33 percent. The men's volleyball program won $5,000 after having 29 percent of their alumni make a gift to support Mason Athletics.
