The Patriots play two non-conference opponents this week, traveling to
Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday before hosting Temple on Wednesday.
Mason is 6-4 overall and coming off of winning its weekend series versus
Bryant. The Patriots won on Friday (1-0) and Sunday (12-3), but fell on
Saturday (18-6). Senior Brig Tison continues to pace the Mason offense hitting
.465 (20-43) with seven RBI's and a team-best 12 runs scored. Senior outfielder
Dan Schafferman and senior designated hitter Zack Helgeson have 10 RBI's apiece to lead the team.

Mason is 7-2 all-time against the Mount, having won the past
two meetings including a 9-5 win last year at Spuhler Field. The Patriots last
traveled to Emmitsburg in 2005, winning by a 27-12 margin.
Mount St. Mary's started its season with nine games in
Florida last week, going 1-8 in those contests. The Mountaineers were swept by
St. Louis in a four-game series to start the season but rebounded with a 14-3
win over St. Bonaventure. However the Mount went on to lose is next three to
St. Bonaventure while also dropping a contest to Bowling Green and will now
enter Tuesday's contest with a four-game losing streak.
This season, Josh Winter leads the Mountaineers with a .441
batting average (15-for-34) with 10 RBI's and four runs scored. Mark Quaranta
is hitting .387 (12-for-31) with a team-high seven runs scored and Michael
Foster is next in line, going 10-for-29 (.345) at the plate.

Mason returns to Spuhler Field on Wednesday, hosting Temple
at 2:30 pm. The two teams last met during the 2008 season, as the Owls earned
the 5-2 win at Skip Wilson Field. The last meeting at Spuhler Field came during
the 2007 campaign as the Patriots emerged victorious in an offensive battler,
18-16.
Temple travels to VCU on Tuesday before making the trip to
Fairfax. Currently the Owls are 3-6 on the season, coming off of a weekend
series at Longwood where they went 1-2.
Senior infielder Foster Dunigan leads the team in hitting,
going 5-for-14 (.357) in six games. Senior catcher Taylor Juran has posted a team-high
nine RBI's while redshirt senior infielder Steve Nikorak leads the team with 11
runs scored.
