2012: Earned second team All-CAA honors ... started 55 games for the Patriots in the outfield ... hit .330 with 72 hits, 10 doubles, five home runs and one triple ... had 39 RBI's and 37 runs scored ... ranked among Mason single season leaders in at-bats (218, 26th), plate appearances (252, 19th) and hits (72, 34th) ... had 21 multiple-hit and nine multiple-RBI performances ... drove in a season-high four runs on two occasions: February 25 vs. Virginia Tech (2-for-5) and March 6 at Mount St. Mary's (1-for-5) ... ended his collegiate career on an 11-game hitting streak, starting on May 1 versus Richmond ... went 15-for-41 (.366) during the span with four runs scored and three RBI's ... ended his career at Mason ranking in several career categories, including 159 games played (29th), 141 games started (35th), 582 at-bats (26th), 683 plate appearances (27th), 116 runs scored (26th), 189 hits (23rd), six triples (21st), 15 home runs (39th), 128 RBI's (13th), 273 total bases (29th), 74 walks (23rd), .406 on-base percentage (29th) and .325 batting average (23rd).

2011: Appeared in 42 games with 41 starts ... made 21 starts in right, 12 in center and eight at designated hitter ... hit .366 with five homers, 11 doubles, 40 RBI, 34 runs scored and eight steals ... led the team in steals, was second in batting average and walks, and was third in home runs ... had 18 multi-hit games and was second on the team with 11 multi-RBI games ... finished the season with a five-game hitting streak ... was named CAA Player of the Week after opening the season 12 of 17 with a homer, nine RBI and nine runs scored ... was 4 for 6 with a homer and four RBI in first appearance, and followed that with three more multi-hit games ... against George Washington (April 5), was 4 for 5 with two homers and five RBI ... also went 4 for 5 with a homer and five RBI against Northeastern (May 7) ... tied a school record with four walks at Maryland (March 30).

2010: Appeared in 46 games with 39 starts for the Patriots, 37 in right and two in left ... set a school record with the team's first-ever six-hit game ... was second on the team with 12 multi-RBI games ... opened the season going 3 for 4 with three RBI and four runs scored against Northwestern (2/18) ... went 3 for 5 with two RBI and three runs scored and his first home run of the season against Georgetown (2/28) ... had a bases-loaded triple against Duquesne (3/20) going 1 for 2 with a pair of ruins scored ... was hitting .214 before going 6 for 6 with a double, a triple, three RBI and five runs scored against UMBC (3/31) ... went 3 for 5 with two RBI and three runs scored against UNCW (4/3) ... had a season-high four RBI against Coppin State (4/14) going 2 for 5 with a homer and three runs scored ... had seven RBI in a two-game span going 1 for 4 with three RBI against Delaware (4/25) and 2 for 4 with four RBI at Maryland (4/27) ... hit .387 against left-handed pitching ... batted .400 with the bases loaded ... with a runner on third and less than two outs, drove in the run more than 72 percent of the time ... in his final 28 games of the season hit .327 with 26 RBI and 21 runs scored.

2009: Appeared in 16 games with six starts for the Patriots and finished the season as the starting designated hitter against left-handed pitchers ... batted .313 with three homers, 13 RBI and a .719 slugging percentage ... in first collegiate game, went 2 for 4 with four RBI and a game-winning triple ... against Marist on March 18, had a double and a run scored ... Against Mount St. Mary's (3/31) had a hit and a walk ... against George Washington (4/7), came off the bench with an RBI and a run scored ... hit a solo home runs against Towson (4/11) ... Was 1-for-2 with a homer and three RBI against James Madison (5/16) ... started the final game of the season in the NCAA Tournament against Binghamton (5/30) going 4-for-5 with a homer, a double, four RBI and two runs scored.

High School: Earned four letters in baseball and three in football during his career at John Dickinson High School ... as both a junior and a senior, named first-team All-State and All-Conference and was the team MVP ... hit .513 as a senior with nine homers, seven triples and 44 RBI.

Personal: Parents are Christine and Dan Schafferman ... has one sibling, Christian ... a 2008 graduate of John Dickinson High School ... also recruited by Maryland and UMBC ... majoring in sports management.
