CENTERVILLE, Mass. - George Mason women's basketball standout
Taleia Moton picked up another prestigious honor as the senior guard was
selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Women's
Basketball All-Star Second Team. ECAC Commissioner Rudy Keeling announced the
award winners Thursday afternoon based on a vote of ECAC coaches or respective
designee.
The Fort Washington, Md. native capped her George Mason
playing career becoming the quickest player in program history to surpass
1,000-career points, reaching the mark in just 61 games. Moton was also recognized by the Colonial
Athletic Association, earning All-CAA First Team honors and was three times
named the player of the week.
Moton was joined on the second team by fellow CAA
student-athlete Courtney Hurt of VCU in addition to Connecticut's Tiffany
Hayes, Asya Bussie of West Virginia University and Sacred Heart University's
Callan Taylor.
Receiving First Team honors were Bria Hartley of Connecticut,
Corielle Yarde of Marist College, Maryland's Alyssa Thomas and Niveen Rasheed
of Princeton. Delaware's Elena Delle Donne completed the first team honorees
and received individual honors as the junior forward/guard was named the 2011-12
ECAC Player of the Year. Freshman Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis from Connecticut was
named the Rookie of the Year.
