The George Mason men's basketball team welcomes rival Old Dominion on a sold-out Homecoming Saturday, in a match-up of first-place Colonial Athletic Association teams. The Patriots defeated the Monarchs, 63-54, in Norfolk on January 5, and are going for their first season sweep of ODU in 10 years ... The Monarchs have won four straight and are tied atop the conference standings with Mason along with Drexel and VCU at 10-2. Most recently, ODU topped James Madison at home on Thursday night, 80-71. Kent Bazemore powers the offense at 13.8 points per game while Chris Cooper averages a double-double of 11.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per outing ... The Patriots are expecting a capacity crowd on Saturday afternoon, and of the six prior times the attendance has been at the full 9,840 figure, the Patriots have been victorious all but once. Mason, who has commanded a 254-98 record in 26 years at the Patriot Center, saw the lone loss come at the hands of UNCW, 75-73, four years ago.
