NEWS & NOTES
As the season continues to wind down, the George Mason women's basketball team plays its first of final three games on the road traveling to Towson for a key CAA matchup Thursday night. The Patriots and Tigers will close out regular season action against each other as Mason defeated Towson earlier this season in Fairfax.
Mason will look for its first season sweep over the Tigers since 2004, while rebounding from a loss to Hofstra on Sunday. Amber Easter and Janaa Pickard both recorded double-doubles in the contest with Easter leading the Patriots with team-highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Taleia Moton continues to offensively lead the Patriots with a 20.9 points per game average as Easter and Evelyn Lewis lead the team on the glass with 6.3 rebounds per games averages.
Towson enters Thursday's matchup on a three-game winning streak having last defeated Northeastern at home, 58-54. Two Tigers average double-figure scoring numbers led by Krystal Parnell with 11.8 points and Tanisha McTiller with an 11.2 points per game average. Nyree Williams leads the team with an 8.0 rebounds per game average.
