George Mason plays host to Hofstra in its annual Play 4Kay Breast Cancer Awareness game on Sunday at 2 p.m. All fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
Mason and Hofstra will meet for the 18th time in program history with the Patriots looking to pick up its second straight win and the Pride looking to snap a two-game skid. Mason is coming off a 75-62 victory over Northeastern, while Hofstra fell 60-76 to VCU most recently.
Amber Easter posted her fifth double-double of the season against the Huskies as four Patriots scored in double-figures to lead the way. Mason is paced in scoring this season by senior Taleia Moton, the 12th ranked player in the country, with a 21.3 points per game average. Easter adds 11.1 points per game on average. Evelyn Lewis leads Mason on the boards with a 6.2 rebounds per game average.
Three players reached double-figure scoring numbers, but it was not enough as the Pride fell to VCU. Hofstra owns a 4-2 conference record on the road and is led in scoring by Shante Evans with an 18.2 points per game average. Katelyn Loper and Nicole Capurso add 13.9 and 11.7 points per game, respectively. Evans averages a double-double securing 10.1 rebounds per game.
