NEWS & NOTES
The Patriots return to action on Wednesday to close out this two-game homestand entertaining Akron for the first time in program history. Mason is coming off a 58-55 victory over UAB on Sunday, while Akron enters the matchup on a three-game win streak.

Rahneeka Saunders, who was tabbed a CAA Player of the Week on Monday, helped lead the Patriots to victory over UAB with a team-high 16 points, including a 9-of-10 effort at the charity stripe. Janaa Pickard picked up her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds against the Blazers. Pickard and Saunders are two of three players that average double-figures for the Patriots on the season as Saunders leads the team with a 13.7 points per game average as Pickard chips in 11.5 ppg. Amber Easter completes the trio with a 10.5 points per game average.

Akron's only loss thus far this season came on the road at Saint Francis in November as the Zips boast a 3-1 road record. The Zips, currently on a three-game win streak which includes two road contests, are led offensively by a trio of players. Rachel Tecca leads Akron with a 20.4 points per game average and ranks No. 23 in the nation, while Hanna Luburgh follows closely behind with an 18.1 ppg average and Sina King averages 14.3 ppg on average. As a team, Akron is sixth in the country in scoring offense averaging 82.4 poings per game. Most recently, Akron is coming off an 81-72 victory over Canisius.
