George Mason head coach Bill Brown has signed six standout
players to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period. The
Patriots' latest recruiting class features three pitchers and three position
players.
Mason's class of 2013 includes catcher Garett Driscoll
(Burke, Va./Lake Braddock), outfielder Nick Gallo (Sewell, N.J./Paul VI), right-handed
pitcher Alec Grosser (Alexandria, Va./TC Williams), left-handed pitcher Tyler
Kardas (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay East Fishkill), first baseman/left-handed
pitcher Jayme Murray (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) and right-handed pitcher Tyler
Zombro (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee).
"We are very excited to welcome this group of outstanding
young men into our program and university," said Brown. "We expect all six of
these student/athletes to be a great core group for our program in the years to
come and they will represent Mason baseball with class both on and off the
field. Every one of these young men will be counted on to contribute right away
and the coaching staff is excited to see their many future successes."

Head Coach Bill Brown: "Nick fills our outfield need in this class and will
also present a mature left-handed bat that shows the ability to hit at a high
level. Defensively, he can play all-three outfield positions with the intention
of becoming our everyday centerfielder early in his career."

Blair ... played travel ball for the Stars organization and coach Carson Carroll
during the 2012 summer ... also played for the Canes in the fall ... won a gold
medal with the North Team during the 2012 Commonwealth Games ... ranked No. 181
in the nation by Perfect Game and the sixth-best prospect in the state of
Virginia ... three year starting quarterback for TC Williams.

him to have a phenomenal career at Mason. His fastball has been clocked as high
as 95 this past summer and he will be a core member of our pitching staff as a
freshman. I look forward to seeing him reach his potential at Mason and become
