TAMPA BAY, Fla. - In his first season of professional
soccer, former Mason men's soccer standout Draymond Washington saw his team,
the Tampa Bay Rowdies, capture the North American Soccer League Soccer Bowl
Championship.
The Rowdies defeated the Minnesota Stars in a thrilling
shootout on Saturday for the second NASL title in program history. With the
win, the team extended its unbeaten streak at home to 12, including six wins
while finishing unbeaten in 19 of its last 21 matches.
After signing with Tampa Bay in March, Washington appeared
in six matches with four starts before suffering a season-ending injury in
June.
