RICHMOND, Va. - George Mason senior forward Taylor Morgan was tabbed as the CAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Morgan led the Patriots in a 1-0-1 week, including a 2-0 win over Delaware on Wednesday and a 0-0 double-overtime draw with Northeastern on Saturday.
In the match at Delaware, Morgan scored both goals for Mason in unassisted fashion. His first tally came in the 60th minute as he fired a one-timer from the right side to the back of the net. He followed that with a goal in the 72nd minute, collecting a misplayed save off the hands of Blue Hens keeper Jay Lupas to find an open net.
Against Northeastern, Morgan accounted for five of Mason's six shots on goal as the two squads battled to a 0-0 draw in Brookline.
This season Morgan leads the conference with 13 goals, a total that also ranks among the Top 10 nationally.
The Patriots return to the pitch on Friday at Georgia State at 7:00 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was moved due to Hurricane Sandy.
