NEWS & NOTES
The George Mason women's soccer team concludes its road portion of the regular season this weekend, traveling to Hofstra for a Friday night contest before visiting Northeastern for a Sunday matinee.
Mason looks to rebound from a double-overtime loss at James Madison most recently. Last season, the Patriots defeated Hofstra in Fairfax, 1-0. Tiana Kallenberger, who ranks second in the league with eight goals, leads the Patriots offensively this season. Sophomore Liz Hodges follows Kallenberger with five goals.
Hofstra enters Friday's matchup with a 5-0 record at home led offensively by Leah Galton with seven goals on the year. Galton is followed closely by Jill Mulholland and Lulu Echeverry, each with six goals on the season. The Pride opened their conference portion of the schedule going 4-0 before dropping its first league contest at Drexel, 3-0.
After hosting Towson Friday night, the Huskies welcome George Mason to Parsons Field for a Sunday matinee. Northeastern stands at 3-5 on its home field this season and has split its last four contests, most recently coming off a 2-0 victory at Delaware. Greta Samuelsdottir owns a team-best five goals on the season, while goalkeeper Paige Burnett has played 13 games in net, recording 60 saves and a 1.60 goals against average.
