NEWS & NOTES
The George Mason women's basketball team takes a break from the road to play host to nationally-ranked Delaware in Colonial Athletic Association action on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Patriot Center. The Blue Hens are ranked No. 21 in the latest AP poll and No. 20 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll. Mason swept Delaware last season, 2-0.
Mason will look to snap this three-game skid on Sunday as the Patriots dropped their first conference game at William and Mary most recently. Amber Easter recorded her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Taleia Moton, who leads the team in scoring with a 20.6 points per game average, led the Patriots offensively against the Tribe with 14 points. Moton ranks 15th in the nation in scoring and third in the league.
Delaware brings an 11-1 overall record and perfect 2-0 CAA mark into action on Sunday behind the nation's leading scorer, Elena Delle Donne. The Blue Hen owns a ppg average of 29.5 and is the school's all-time leading scorer after draining 37 points against Towson. Delaware's only loss of the season came against then-No. 5 Maryland.
