George Mason women's basketball closes out this three-game homestand welcoming Towson to the Patriot Center for a 7 p.m. tip on Thursday night. The Patriots lead the all-time series, 14-8, but Towson has taken the last seven meetings against Mason. Both teams will look for their fourth CAA victory of the season Thursday night.
Mason is coming off a strong win over VCU, edging the Rams 71-58 on Sunday. Taleia Moton scored a game-high 29 points and was named CAA Player of the Week after also draining a game-high 28 points against William and Mary. Moton continues to lead the team offensively with a 21.4 points per game average, while Amber Easter averages double-figures with a 10.8 ppg average. Evelyn Lewis leads the team on the glass owning a 6.2 rebounds per game average.
Towson is coming off a win on the road at Georgia State, 56-52. The Tigers have dropped four of their past six after posting a six-game win streak in December. Tanisha McTiller and Krystal Parnell lead Towson offensively with 12.8 and 11.8 ppg averages, respectively. Nyree Williams owns an 8.8 rebounds per game average to pace the team on the glass.
The conference foes met once last season in the Patriot Center with the visiting Tigers taking the decision, 59-53.
