After a career weekend in which she helped lead the Patriots to two conference victories, George Mason sophomore outside hitter Lana Zonjic was recognized as the Colonial Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the Week in volleyball, announced Monday afternoon by the conference office. It is the first such honor for Zonjic, who earned three Rookie of the Week awards last season. Additionally, Zonjic was recognized Tuesday as the ECAC Player of the Week for Division I.

Zonjic averaged 4.38 kills and 2.5 digs per set over the two 3-1 victories against VCU and William & Mary this past weekend. On Friday night against the Rams, the Zagreb, Croatia native powered the offense with a career-high 23 kills on .579 hitting, and added nine digs, two blocks, one ace and an assist. Her kill tally was the highest by a Patriot in a single match since Rebecca Walter's 30-kill outing against William & Mary on October 19, 2007.

On Saturday night against the Tribe, Zonjic posted 12 kills, 11 digs, three blocks and two assists, her second double-double of the season and seventh of her career.

This season, Zonjic leads the team in kills (158) and points (178), and ranks second in aces (10) and fourth in digs (95).

Zonjic and the Patriots, who have won four straight matches, take their streak on the road for a showdown on Friday at James Madison. First serve from Harrisonburg is set for 7 p.m.
