the Pitch, a weekly feature that allows fans to get acquainted with one
member of the women's soccer team, GoMason.com spoke with freshman defender
Paige Babel, a native of Springfield, Va. Babel has emerged into a starting role and has started five of seven matches appeared in.
Q: What is your
favorite part of playing soccer?
A: My favorite part of playing soccer is being on a team
with 30 of my good friends, working together and doing something we all love!
Q: Why did you choose
to play for George Mason?
A: I chose George Mason because Mason provides my intended
major, has a beautiful campus and has a great soccer team.
Q: What is your
favorite food?
A: My favorite food is fruit and Reese's - not together!
Q: What is your
favorite movie?
A: My favorite movie is The Notebook.
Q: What two words
would you use to describe yourself?
A: Adventurous and trustworthy.
Q: Would you rather
be a contestant on American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance or America's Got
Talent? And why?
A: I would be on So You Think You Can Dance because I used
to dance and I'd love to meet Travis Wall.
Q: If you were on
Survivor, what teammate would you want to be partnered with and why?
A: I would want to be partnered with Zania [Barnum] because
she finds a way to win...no matter what.
Q: What is one thing
interesting about you that people may not know?
A: I was born on Christmas Eve.
Q: What does it mean
to you to be a George Mason Patriot?
A: It means taking pride in my actions.
