NEWS & NOTES
It's a full weekend of soccer action as the George Mason men's
and women's soccer teams host doubleheaders on both Friday and Sunday this
weekend at George Mason Stadium. The women's team kicks off the action on
Friday night playing host to Howard at 6 p.m. before welcoming Penn on Sunday
at 2 p.m.
Mason is coming of its first victory of the season, a 3-1 triumph
over Saint Francis on Tuesday. Newcomers Casey Vornadore and Liz Hodges led the
Patriots to victory, each scoring their first goals in the Green and Gold.
Howard is coming off a 4-1 loss to Robert Morris
and is led by Owyn Mason and Jordan Brown, each with three goals on the season.
Undefeated on the early season, Penn recently edged Saint Joseph's 2-0 for its
fourth win of the season. The Quakers are led by Marin McDermott and Kathryn
Barth, each with two goals on the year.
