Men's Volleyball Takes to the Court for Matches Against Two Ranked Opponents

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL VS. PRINCETON

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Where: Recreation & Athletic Complex

Tickets: $5 for adults, $2 for youth and seniors, free for students

Records: Mason (15-9, 7-2), Princeton (3-17, 1-8)

Notes:  The Patriots, who have already wrapped up the second seed in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament, will host Princeton in the final regular-season EIVA match for both teams. The Patriots will host NYU in the opening round of the EIVA tournament next weekend while Princeton did not qualify for the EIVA Tournament. This match will mark the return of Colton Nail from injury as the redshirt senior rejoins the team for the first time since 2008. The Patriots won the first meeting on the road on Feb. 18, taking a 25-14, 25-16, 21-25, 25-17 win. Mark Jones had 15 kills, Brandon Joyner had 41 assists and six blocks as the Patriots hit .255. Princeton hit just .115 in that match.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL VS. #9 OHIO STATE

When: Saturday, 7 p.m.

Where: Recreation & Athletic Complex

Tickets: $5 for adults, $2 for youth and seniors, free for students

Records: Mason (15-9), #9 Ohio State (20-6)

Notes:  The Patriots are facing Ohio State for the second time this season. The first time the teams faced was Jan. 18 when the Buckeyes were ranked #10. Ohio State took a 29-27, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17 win over the Patriots. Mark Jones had 18 kills and Shaun Sibley had 11 kills and hit .625 as the Patriots hit .313. Ohio State hit .347 in the match and got 60 assists from Steven Kehoe. The Buckeyes also had 39 digs while Mason had 27. Three ranked teams have come to The RAC this season and Mason is 2-1 in those contests. Shaun Sibley leads the nation in blocks per set and Mark Jones is fifth in the country in kills per set. For Ohio State, Steven Kehoe is fifth in the country in assists per set while John Klanac is 15th in the nation in hitting percentage.
