As the basketball world descends on Houston for the Final Four this weekend,
George Mason will be featured prominently across a number of media outlets.
On Saturday, head coach Jim Larranaga will be a part of CBS's
official pre-game television coverage on The Final Four Show beginning at 4
p.m. Larranaga, who led the Patriots to the third round of this year's NCAA
Championship, will join host Greg Gumbel and analysts Greg Anthony, Charles
Barkley, Kenny Smith and Seth Davis.
Throughout the weekend, fans can relive the Patriots'
magical run to the Final Four five seasons ago as Fox College Sports presents "Mason
Impossible: The Story of Coach L and the Improbable Patriots". The program will
be aired on Saturday at 12 p.m., Sunday at 4:30 p.m. and Monday evening at 8
p.m.
With two schools from the non-BCS conferences in this
weekend's Final Four, many members of the media and fans have been reflecting
upon how George Mason's 2006 season established a precedent for schools outside
the traditional power conferences to advance to the sport's highest level. In
fact, one poll on FOXSports.com selected Mason as the number-one Cinderella
story in tournament history
