The George Mason men's 4X400-meter relay team posted one of
the 15 fastest times in the nation this season at the Iowa State Qualifier
while in Boston, the men's team had three top-8 finishes at the IC4A
Championships, and Rochelle Sceats
set a new school record in the 5,000 meters
at the ECAC Championships.

posted a 3:07.57 at the Iowa State meet, finishing
third in the event behind Iowa and Florida State. The Patriots were just ahead
of Washington State and Georgia.
At the IC4A meet, Everett Hackett was third in the 3,000
meters with a time of 8:13.66,
Dwight Webley
was fourth in the long jump with a
distance of 7.11 meters, and Wes Sun was tied for sixth in the pole vault with
a height of 4.90 meters.
Advancing through the preliminary rounds and into Sunday's
finals were
Kevin Wilson
, who was fifth in the 500 meters,
Rachaunn Ruffin
, who
was sixth in the 200 meters, and Anthony LaMastro, who was seventh in the mile.
In the ECAC event, Sceats posted a second-place finish in
the 5,000 when she ran a time of 16:28.02, topping the previous school record
of Cassie O'Neill, who set the previous mark of 16:28.10 in 1989. Also scoring
points for the Patriots was Dominique Barron, who tied for seventh in the high
jump with a height of 1.69 meters. Freshman
Daianna Barron
had the top time in
the 400-meter prelims finishing in 55.35. Crystal Clark was seventh in the
200-meter prelims with a mark of 24.61.
The IC4A and ECAC Championships will conclude on Sunday.
