George Mason sophomore opposite hitter Mark Jones had an excellent week for the Patriots as they picked up a pair of wins, including a victory over No. 12 Lewis. For his accomplishments on the court, he was named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tait Division Player of the Week.

Jones had 37 kills and a .343 attack percentage in seven sets as the Patriots swept Lees-McRae and beat Lewis, 3-1. Jones averaged 5.29 kills per set on 10 attacks per set and he added five service aces, nine digs and nine total blocks as the Patriots improved to 14-8 on the season.

Jones, a sophomore from Glendale Heights, Ill., was sixth in the nation in kills per set and top 50 in the country in digs per set and aces per set the last time the NCAA released its national statistics summary. The Patriots, currently second in the EIVA, will take on first-place Penn State this Saturday in University Park.
