Notes:
The Patriots have struggled without a pair of
starters in the lineup as Dan Schafferman and Jake Leonardo have been out since
last week. Nonetheless, the Patriots enter the weekend with a .300 batting
average and they are fresh off a 13-hit performance at Georgetown. Mason is playing at home for the first time since March 9 and it will be their first home CAA game of the season. UNC
Wilmington also is coming off a tough week of competition but they have one of
the best pitching staffs in the CAA. The last time these teams met in Fairfax, the
Patriots swept the Seahawks, but UNCW won the meeting that mattered the most
that year, eliminating top-seeded Mason from the CAA Tournament. Last year, the
Patriots took 2 of 3 from UNCW in Wilmington.
