George Mason men's soccer head coach Greg Andrulis announced the signing of Timmy Mulgrew to a National Letter-of-Intent to play
for George Mason. The forward/midfielder has enrolled at Mason and will be
eligible to compete with the team in the spring 2011 semester.
“Timmy is a quick, athletic and relentless player with an
outstanding attitude,” Andrulis said. “We are thrilled that Timmy and his
family agreed to have Timmy graduate early so that he could get his college
career started this semester.”
Mulgrew, a native of Sterling, was home-schooled but played
for the Great Falls Soccer Club where he was coached by former Mason alumni
Mark Ryan and Ed Beach.
“Timmy comes very highly recommended by former Mason alumni,
Mark and Ed, who do a tremendous job preparing their guys to be successful in
college,” Andrulis said. “I love Timmy's enthusiasm for the game and his
eagerness to prove himself at our level. He is one of the top players in the
D.C. Metro area, if not the state of Virginia, and we are expecting big things
from him during his career.”
