Crystal Clark ran one of the fastest times in school history
in the 60 meters and
Adrian Vaughn
and
Ja-Vell Bullard
both finished in the top
three as the men's and women's track and field team competed at the Virginia
Tech Invitational on Friday.
Clark ran a time of 7.60 seconds in the 60 meters to finish
second, tying the eighth-fastest time in school history. She had previously
qualified for the ECAC Championships in the event. Also finishing top 10 in the
event was
TaNay Chandler
who was seventh with a time of 7.78 in the prelims and
7.81 in the finals.
Kelsey Hinz
cleared 3.35 meters in the unseeded pole vault
to finish fourth while
Daianna Barron
was sixth in the 200 meters in 25.11
seconds. The other top 10 finish by a member of the women's team was Nao Ma
finishing ninth in the 3000 meters in 10:29.39.
On the men's side, Vaughn was second in the 200 meters in
21.51 while Bullard was third in 21.60.
Travaughn Baker-Johnson
was tenth in
22.11.
Josh Trikakis
was third in the unseeded pole vault clearing 4.45 meters
while
Kevin Wilson
was eighth in the 600 meters in 1:21.51.
Chris Carrington
,
meanwhile, recorded the best time of the year by a Patriot in the mile
finishing in 4:06.09.
On Saturday, five individual women and two relay teams will
compete while 11 individual men and four relay teams will compete.
