who never got closer than six the rest of the way. The second set was tied at
7-7 but Mason used a 4-0 run to turn a 12-10 edge into a 16-10 advantage.
Princeton (1-7, 0-4) closed to 17-14 but the Patriots pulled away down the
stretch.
In the third set, Mason went up 7-3 and was ahead
12-10 but Princeton scored four straight to take the lead. The Tigers never
trailed in the set after that, holding off several Mason charges to force a
fourth set. The final set was only close early. It was 4-4 and 6-6 and Mason
held a slim 13-10 lead before winning six of the next eight points to pull away
and remain perfect in conference play.
The Patriots return to action on Saturday at Noon
when they play at Rutgers-Newark.
